Coasters

Acrylic on coasters for an upcoming show at Santa Ana, CA's Grand Central Art Gallery. The gallery put out a call for anyone and everyone to put photo/art/poetry on these coasters they handed out. I thought I'd use this as a chance to try some experimentation in style and distortion and honestly to just paint something. It's been a while, I guess. They were fun to make- enjoy!

Only one post this week, although divided in two for easy archiving. Have you missed me this week, internet? I much prefer the intimate nature of our blog to other social media. Most of all because it takes a little more work for you to navigate your way to my little corner of the web. I also appreciate that we can be adult about art and nudity. It's vulnerable subject matter, and I post these with utmost respect for the collaboration between artist and model, but I'm sure you already knew this being the savvy cultured audience that you are. Thanks for visiting and as always, you are appreciated.

More sketches from this evening. Well internet, this is turning into a regular thing... I'm finding myself thinking about you during the week and looking forward to our posts. I think maybe you feel the same? Yes... no? Well, Sunday evenings are a great time to unwind, kick off your shoes, maybe a little wine and of course... some art. Expulsio

So here's this week's "color" piece. First is the strange little sketch inspired by Milton, Rilke, Blake and all things supernatural. Then, I wanted to take the thought a bit further so the idea crossed into the realm of color. I like the odd little painting as is, but I think it can still be pushed along into a finished piece.
